MONT VENTOUX DENIVELE CHALLENGE – 17 JUNE 209

SPECIAL REGULATIONS

 

ARTICLE 1: ORGANISATION

The Mont Ventoux altitude difference challenge is organised by the Association GFNY Mont Ventoux, 300 Avenue Ulysse Fabre, 84110 Vaison la Romaine, under the regulations of the International Cycling Union. It fights on 17 June 2019 departing from Vaison-la-Romaine (Vaucluse) for a distance of 171 km (+ 2km of fictitious departure). The KM0 is located at the end of the 2km of fictitious course, at the exit of the city.

 

ARTICLE 2: TYPE OF TEST

The race is reserved for elite men athletes. It is listed on the UCI Europe tour calendar. The event is classified in class 1.1 (ME1) in accordance with the UCI regulation, it assigns the following points to the first 25 riders ranked for the UCI continental men elite ranking and the UCI elite men's world ranking:

1st: 125pts 2nd: 85pts 3rd: 7 pts 4th: 60pts 5th: 50pts 6th: 40pts 7th: 30pts 8th: 30 PTS 9th: 25pts 10th: 20pts

ARTICLE 3: PARTICIPATION 

In accordance with article 2.1.005 of the UCI regulation, at the invitation of the organiser, the event is open to UCI World teams (within the limit of 50%), to the UCI professional continental teams, to the UCI continental teams.

According to article 2.2.003 of the UCI regulation, the number of riders per team is minimum 5 riders and maximum 7 riders.

ARTICLE 4: PERMANENCE (DEPARTURE – ARRIVAL)

The permanence of reception is held on Sunday 16 June 2019 from 2pm to 8pm at the cultural space of Vaison-la-Romaine, 105 Avenue François Mitterrand.

The confirmation of the starters and the withdrawal of the bib numbers by the team managers are at the permanence from 2pm to 6pm

The meeting of the sports directors, organised in accordance with article 1.2.087 of the UCI regulation, in the presence of members of the College of Commissioners is set at 18:30

The arrival permanence is held on Monday 17 June 2019 from 3pm to 6pm at the cultural space of Vaison-la-Romaine, 105 Avenue François Mitterrand.

ARTICLE 5: ORGANIZATION OF DEPARTURE

Runners will have to sign the starting sheet between 9 hours 15 and 10 hours 15 on the stand of the organization installed near the parking runners.

They must present themselves to the complete team signature, according to a specific timetable which will be indicated to the sporting directors by the organisation

ARTICLE 6: RADIO-TOUR

The race information is issued on the frequency 157,550 MHz

 

ARTICLE 7: NEUTRAL TECHNICAL ASSISTANCE

The neutral technical assistance service is provided by VITTA ASSISTANCE by means of 3 assistance vehicles in order to ensure the repairs to the riders.

 

ARTICLE 8: MEDICAL SERVICE

In accordance with articles 1.2.060, 1.2.062 of the UCI regulation, the test has a medical service providing free care, consisting of two doctors and two ambulances. On the other hand, in accordance with articles 1.1.006 and 1.1.002, riders and accompanying persons of a sports group must be insured for all medical expenses (also repatriation) which could be dispensed to them outside the race.

 

ARTICLE 9: REFUELLING 

A fixed-line intermediate refuelling zone is foreseen at km 67

This area will be materialised from the signs "start and end of refuelling"

The right side of the roadway is reserved for the healers of the teams whose vehicles should preferably be parked in the running order of the sports directors ' cars.

 

ARTICLE 10: ARRIVAL DELAY

Any rider arriving within a period exceeding 12% of the winner's time is no longer held in the standings.

The time limit may be increased in the event of exceptional circumstances by the College of Commissioners, in consultation with the organiser (article 2.3.039 of the UCI regulation).

 

ARTICLE 11: CLASSIFICATION

The following classifications will be established:

The overall ranking of the Mont Ventoux altitude challenge (ranking established according to the order of arrival).

The ranking of the best young – "Trophée LAPIERRE" (ranking established according to the order of arrival concerning runners born from 01 January 1994).

The prize of the most combative – "public Prize" (Prize awarded by the jury of the UCI Commissioners at the end of the event).

To participate in the general classification of the event, any competitor will have to finish the event.

 

ARTICLE 12: PRICES

 

The Grand total of the prizes distributed on the occasion of the event is 14 520 € divided into 20 prizes in the following way:

The ranking of the best young "Trophée LAPIERRE" is endowed with €500

The prize for best combative "public Prize" will be awarded a premium of €300

 

ARTICLE 13: DOPING CONTROL

The UCI anti-doping regulation applies in full to this test. In addition, the French anti-doping legislation also applies to the test.

The doping control will be carried out at the end of the race at the top of Mont Ventoux, near the arrival area in the mobile home intended for this purpose.

 

ARTICLE 14: PROTOCOL

According to article 1.2.112 of the UCI regulation, the following riders must present themselves in accordance with the Protocol for the awarding of trophies:

  • The winner, the second and third of the race ranking
  • The winner of the best youth ranking
  • The winner of the most combative Prize

They will be present within a maximum of 10 minutes after their arrival. In case of absence on the podium of runners, the organizer reserves the right to make certain provisions such as the non-awarding of premiums.

Upon arrival, the winner of the event will have to give an interview to the TV channels broadcasting the live event, in a stand located near the podium.

 

ARTICLE 15: PENALITES

The fact of being engaged implies that each rider has read this regulation and accepts all the clauses. The arbitration, concerning the sporting conduct of a race, is placed under the authority of the President of the jury and the Commissioners appointed in application of the General regulations of the UCI. The UCI penalties schedule is the only applicable one.

 

ARTICLE 16: DERIVATION

A mandatory bypass will be put in place before the finish line for vehicles including motorcycles. A regulator will be present to sharpen the vehicles. Only authorized to cross the finish line the vehicles of the management of the Organization, of the Commissioners of the official physician and the sporting Director of the winner arriving seconded with an advance of at least one minute in accordance with article 2.3.006 of the UCI regulation.

 

ARTICLE 17: PROTECTION OF THE ENVIRONMENT

In the context of environmental protection and in accordance with the UCI eco-campaign, riders and followers are asked not to discard any waste on and around the roadway. The Mont Ventoux is classified as a "biosphere reserve" by the U. N.E.S.C. O and site "Natura 2000", it is all the more important not to relieve itself of its waste during the ascent of the latter, outside the managed areas.

 

ARTICLE 18: FORCE MAJEURE

In case of very violent winds, snowstorm/hail preventing access to the Summit of Mont Ventoux, the arrival will be at Chalet Reynard, 6km from the Summit, KM164, 7. The decision will be taken by the President of the jury in consultation with the clerk of the course and the Prefecture services, and will be announced to the sports directors.
